WALT DISNEY'S DREAM CAME TRUE ON JULY 17TH, 1955
Disneyland, Anaheim, was opened to the public on Monday, July 18, 1955, but a special event was held on Sunday, July 17, open only open to invited guests and the media. The first time we visited it, twenty seven years later, we realized that Disneyland Park - partially inspired by Tivoli Gardens (built in 1843 in Copenhagen, Denmark) -, was actually an achievement, whose magnificence could be better understood by adults rather than by children. Almost everything is fake, but that's also part of the dream...
